OUR HISTORY

Youth Trust (Grantham) (YTG) was formed in 1988 as a successor to the government backed Youth Training Scheme (YTS) .

YTS was formed in 1983 with participation from the two Rotary Clubs (Grantham and Grantham Kesteven), and the Chamber of Trade and Grantham College. Subsequently the Chamber of Trade ceased operating and Grantham College withdrew. On cessation, the scheme’s remaining funds were used to set up an endowment under the name of YTG to continue the support of young people on a charitable basis.

The Youth Trust (Grantham) became a registered charity (No 703185) on 30th June 1990. It is the income generated from the invested funds that are distributed in the form of grants.

The Trustees were lead from inception to 2017 by the late Colonel Arthur Bell.
